3. Dallas, TX
Another major city in Texas you may want to check out is Dallas. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the country, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding some fun things to do. Later in the summer, the Dallas Cowboys will start playing their preseason football game. If you want to see one of the largest stadiums in the world, you should check out AT&T Stadium, which is where the Dallas Cowboys play. Of course, Dallas is also home to a wide variety of shops and restaurants, so you should check out some of the nightlife as well!

4. San Antonio, TX
Finally, just a short distance from Houston is San Antonio. San Antonio is a city with a tremendous amount of history. For example, this is where the Alamo is located. There was a major battle fought at the Alamo in 1836, as Texas was trying to win its independence from Mexico. You may want to take a tour of the Alamo if you want to learn more about what life was like for settlers during the early stages of westward expansion. Then, take a look at some of the art galleries and museums in San Antonio! There is a tremendous amount of culture in this mosaic city.
